Sven Egil Omdal is a Norwegian journalist and author. He is the former President of the Norwegian Union of Journalists and the national self-regulatory body, The Press Council. He has been an editor of Stavanger Aftenblad and has written a number of books on various subjects. "Borgerlønn - Ideen som endrer spillet" ("Basic income. The game changing idea"), written with his wife and colleague, Ingeborg Eliassen, was nominated for "The National Book" award in 2018.

Society has enough resources to guarantee every citizen a minimum level of economic dignity. The rest is politics. This is not a question of financing, but rather of redistributing the resources that are already there.
