Sander Markx

Director of Precision Psychiatry at Columbia University

Dr. Markx attended medical school at the University of Amsterdam and was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to lead a groundbreaking psychiatric genetics research project in New York that facilitated the identification of several novel genetic causes of debilitating psychiatric disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder and schizophrenia. He completed his residency in psychiatry at Columbia University. After graduation, he joined the Columbia Psychiatry faculty and became Director of Precision Psychiatry. The Markx lab is currently carrying out a number of groundbreaking studies that focus on introducing a precision-medicine-based approach to psychiatry.
