Panos Louridas is an Associate Professor at the Department of Management Science and Technology at the Athens University of Economics and Business. His research interests include software technology, algorithms, cybersecurity, big data processing and systems engineering. He is author of the book “Real World Algorithms” which has been published by the MIT Press Publishing House, has been translated in different languages and is used as syllabus material for international universities as well as the journal “Algorithms” by the MIT Press Essential Knowledge Series. His publications have had more than 1700 citations. He is a member of the ACM, IEEE, Usenix and AAAS. Additionally to his academic career, he is Head of Development for the Greek National Network of Infrastructure, Technology and Research and he is still an active programmer. He graduated from the IT Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a master’s degree and a PhD from the University of Manchester.
