George Giannakopoulos

Artificial Intelligence Research Fellow at NCSR “Demokritos”, Co-Founder of SciFY PNPC

Dr. George Giannakopoulos is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Fellow at NCSR “Demokritos” and co-founder of SciFY, a not-for-profit company applying AI for the common good. He has more than 15 years of AI experience on industrial and EU-funded projects, related to natural language processing, machine learning and other related areas. He has contributed to the Greek National Strategy on AI, as well as several national and international working groups on Data Policy, AI and Social Innovation. He has also authored the first Greek book on AI that addresses non-expert and expert audiences alike, under the title “AI: a subtle demystification”.

AI has ended up being self-reflection, so that we can discuss what parts we can improve and how we can overcome racism, biases, but also intercultural changes.
